Josie Martin Stokes, 34, a native of Rochester, N.Y., and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church in Gibson, La. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert Stokes of Houma; and two sisters, Melinda Wright and Tanya Martin, both of Newburn, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Simmons and Joseph Martin.

She was a CNA at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
