Joy C. Schexnayder, 76, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Edgard, La., died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011.
Mrs. Schexnayder was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She taught school at St. Joseph Elementary School in Thibodaux for 29 years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Schexnayder Jr.; sons, Robert III (Michelle) and Kenneth (Jill) Schexnayder; daughters, Lisa (Casey) Jones and Barbara Schexnayder; sisters, Iris Delaneuville and Faith Roussell; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Aline Champagne; brothers, Wallace, Durwood and Frankie Champagne; and sisters, Jackie Matherne, Audrey Raynard, Rita Bohn and Mary Schexnayder.
Burial was at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Cemetery in Thibodaux. (Landry’s)
