Joyce Arabie Darsey, 78, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Barbara) and Gary Darsey; daughters, Kay (John) Rogers, Lynne Tharpe, Lisa (Karl) Rivere, Cathy (Timmy) Boudreaux and Kitti (Bryan) Ledet; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elphey Darsey; parents, Alton Sr. and Gertie Arabie; son, Terry Darsey; brothers, Alton Jr. and Allen Arabie; and sister, Jeanette Fauchaux.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 and 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 14 at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, La. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
