Judson Thomas Ellender Sr., 67, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Montegut, La., died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012.


Mr. Ellender was president and operations manager of Houma Land and Offshore Company. Upon his retirement, his hobby and love for his cattle farm LaCache Cattle Co. occupied most of his time. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Montegut.


He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie Ellender; children, Colette (Benny) Fick, Wendy Henry and Judson Ellender Jr.; brothers, Edward Jr. and Clark Ellender; sisters, Helen Pitre, Dorothy Prosperie and Darlene Bergeron; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Raleigh Ellender; parents, Edward Sr. and Madeline Ellender; sister, Adeline Cunningham; and brother, Whitney Ellender.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday Jan. 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
