Julie Catherine Chauvin, 81, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. Mrs. Chauvin was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nicholls State University and pursued a teaching career in Terrebonne Parish. She furthered her education and became a certified librarian where she worked at St. Matthew’s Episcopal School until her retirement. Julie was a devout Catholic. She was a talented artist and writer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She never turned down a game of Scrabble. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Chauvin is survived by her sons, Ron Chauvin and Art Chauvin; daughters, Lisa (Roy) Chauvin Mongrue and Maria (Tommy) Chauvin Hebert; 10 grandchildren, Chelsie and Storm Chauvin, Trey, William, Julie, John and Thomas Mongrue, Austin, Alex and Ashley Hebert; one great-grandchild, Brody Walsh; brother Dale A. Bienvenu; and beloved dog, Patsy.


Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin Funeral Home)
