Junius Acosta, 77, a resident of Stephensville, La., died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.


Mr. Acosta was a commercial fisherman who loved hunting. He was a dedicated Christian and family man who loved going to church.


He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Gary) Businelle, Jackie (Ronald) Brown and Laura (Dewey) Riley; brothers, Lenard (Ella), Jerry (Dee Dee) and Wilson (Fedora) Acosta; sisters, Aline (Jerome) Bertrand, Diane (Harris) Soileau and Gertrude (Pete) Prestenback; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Acosta; son, Rickey Acosta; parents, William Acosta and Aline Richard; brother, Dewit Lamb; sister, Doris Acosta; great-grandson, Sparrow Businelle; and great-granddaughter, Shanda Businelle.

Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
