Junius Joseph Pitre, 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, July 21.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Bridget Mayeaux Pitre; two sons, Jimmy and wife Billie Pitre of Cottonport, La., and Perry and wife Sonoma Pitre of Raceland La.; two sisters Betty LaBlanc of Bordelonville, La., and Ruby Foret and Mona Bourgeois of Houma; and four grandchildren, Jimmy J. Pitre and wife Shannon, Brian Pitre and wife Tiffiny, Matthew Pitre and Jacob Pitre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans Pitre Sr. and Marie “May” Marcel Pitre; one brother, Evans Gene Pitre; and one sister, Wilma Pitre.
He was a supervisor for the Terrebonne Parish Police Jury.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 23, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Chauvin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
