Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target

Kalan “Coco” Wayne Parfait, 28, a native of Dulac, La., and resident of Iota, La., died 9:31 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010.


Mr. Parfait resided at Acadiana Region Supports Services Center in Iota. He attended the School for Exceptional Children in Houma and was a TARC client. He also once resided at the Chalmette Group Home, Belle Chasse Group Home and the former Metropolitan Developmental Center in Belle Chasse.

He is survived by his father, Linus Joseph Parfait Sr.; brothers, Lynn “Lynnieboy” (Ida) of Houma and Peter (Deborah) Jason of Lockport; sisters, Carla (Danny) Solet of Houma, Paula (Troy) Derouen of Biloxi, Miss., Amanda Parfait of Houma; sister-in-law, Marion Parfait; nieces, Tabitha, Angelle, Kimberly, Alicia and Elizabeth Parfait, Angie (Todd) Eschette, Candace (Craig) Chauvin and Dana Solet; nephews, Christopher, Jason, Braedon, Kameron and T-Lynn Parfait, Danny Solet Jr., Kieran and Keaton Derouen; and 15-great nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Marie Dean Parfait; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Edna Parfait; maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Eva Dean; brother, Linus J. Parfait Jr.; and great-nephew, Christopher James Parfait Jr.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, at Holy Family Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. A memorial service will also be held at 10 a.m. at Acadiana Region Supports and Services Center in Iota Wednesday, March 10.

He will be buried at Holy Family Church Mausoleum.
