Kara Brooks

Kara “Ko Ko” Brooks, 30, a native and resident of Belle Rose, La., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011.

She is survived by her mother, Lynette Brooks; father and step-mother, Phillip and Barbara Lawrence; brothers, Michael Batiste and Phillip Lawrence Jr.; sisters, Latasha Brooks and Precious Hillary; grandparents, Ann Landry and Royal Hayes and Estelle Lawrence; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Brooks; and grandparents, Lionel Brooks and Nathan Lawrence Sr.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Belle Rose with religious services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
