Kenneth Barrilleaux, Sr.

Kenneth A. Barrilleaux, Sr., 78, a native of Opelousas, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died at 6:22 a.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Folse Barrilleaux of Houma; two sons, Eric Barrilleaux and Kenneth Barrilleaux, Jr. of Houma; three daughters, Allayne Barrilleaux of Thibodaux, LA., Lauren Henry of Bourg, LA. and Tina Barrilleaux Bown of Houma; two brothers, John Barrilleaux of Baton Rouge, LA. and Phil Barrilleaux of Zachary, LA.; three sisters, Viva Lee Barrilleaux Atkinson, Cathlene Barrilleaux of Florida and Charlene Karlsson of Virginia; and nine grandchildren, Daniel Henry, Jr., Brandon Ashley, Emily Pizzolatto, Kayla Pizzolatto, Hunter Bown, Elizabeth Bown, Cameron Barrilleaux and Whitney Garland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Barrilleaux and Elva Hunter Barrilleaux; one son, Brent Barrilleaux; one daughter, Melissa Barrilleaux; and one brother, Hunter Barrilleaux.

He was a past member of the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, SLECA, Houmas, Terreanians, Physical Therapy Association, (LPTA), Board of Realtors, LPTA Hall of Fame 2000.

He was a retired physical therapist.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and had the longest physical-therapy practice in the country. He was inducted in the LPTA in 2000.
