Lafourche tax assessor dead at 58

Larry J. Usea, 55, a native of Kraemer, La., and resident of Choupic, La., died Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
Mr. Usea enjoyed cooking in his “shop” for family and friends and having everyone over to eat. In his spare time he loved to ride in his boat on the bayous and lakes. He was employed by Brock Enterprises for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Julia Usea; daughter, Holly (Bobby) Bergeron; parents, Larry and Beulah Usea; brother, Kelly Usea; sisters, Lenora (Murphy) Cortez and Rhonda Usea; grandmother, Beatrice Cortez; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Tabor; and grandparents, Moise Cortez and Wilson and Claylee Usea.
Visitation will be 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Thibodaux)
