Larry J. Remont, 72, a native of Cut Off, La., died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Remont was a long-time member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Houston, Texas. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandsons. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and also served in the National Guard. Larry built his career in the petroleum industry, focusing on drilling fluids. He shared his expertise throughout the world, as far from home as Egypt. During his career Larry co-authored 15 publications on his field. He was a 50-year, recognized, member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. His intellectual curiosity, patience and attention to detail were appreciated by all those he came into contact with. He will be remembered forever.
