Lawrence Anthoney Mazerac Jr., 84, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010.


Mr. Mazerac was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was the founder of Main Iron Works. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served during World War II. Mr. Mazerac was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a National D-Day Museum donor.


He is survived by his wife, Eula Dubois Mazerac; son, Michael (Juanita) Mazerac; daughters, Marla (Larry) Blackwell, Linda Brunet and Peggy Mazerac; sister, Rose Ann (Clifford) Abadie; brothers, Wilfred (Arsenia), Lindsey Sr. (Bernice), Gerald (Betty) Mazerac; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Juanita and Rosie Mazerac.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Cable Marcel Mazerac; brothers, Wilson and Francis Mazerac, Sr.; sisters, Rose Mary Mazerac and Rita Mae Lepine; and brother-in-law, Joseph Lepine Sr.

He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
