May 2, 2011Lawrence Paul Billiot Sr., 77, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Theriot, La., died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
Mr. Billiot was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. He worked as a seismographer with GSI and was part owner of Southland Seismograph. He was also a commercial fisherman. He was a loving husband and father who loved to tell jokes to make his family and friends laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Gregoire Billiot; sons, Nolan (Linda) Aycock Sr. and Darren (Becky) Billiot Sr.; daughters, Felecie “Susie” Solet, Mary “Peanut” (Eugene) Billiot, Elisa Triche and Darlene (Jessie Sr.) Guidry; brothers, Ernest “Tiff”, Randolph and Roy Billiot; sisters, Dorissa Billiot, Mary Porche, Roselia Naquin, Mary Mudd and Edianna Billiot; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Louise Billiot Billiot; sons, Lawrence Jr. and Michael Billiot; son-in-law, Jerry Solet; granddaughter, Shonda Aycock; brothers, Rudolph and Irvin Billiot; and sisters, Edelia Duplantis and Christine Billiot.
He is buried at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
