Lawrence “Pedue” Hayes Sr., 71, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gibson, La., died Thursday, July 3.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Allen Hayes; three sons, Minister Anthony Hayes, Brian Hayes of Houston, Tx., and Lawrence Hayes Jr. and wife, LaToya; two daughters, Araminta Hayes and Tawanda Vincent; three brothers, Johnus Hayes Jr., Carl P. Hayes and Hubert Hayes of San Diego, Ca.; two sisters, Aline H. Smith and Laverne Hayes; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnus Hayes Sr. and Alice Washington Hayes; one son, Michael Vincent; two brothers, Berwick and Freddie Hayes; two sisters, Hilda Mae Hayes and Annie Louise H. Robinson; and his grandparents, John Washington and Pearl Washington.
He was a retired construction worker, an usher and was Baptist.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at St. James Baptist Church in Gibson with the funeral service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
