Leander Robert “Slim” Pitre Sr., 81, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 10:10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Eve Landry; sons, Leander Jr., Ronald (Donna) and James Pitre; daughters, Vivian (Jimmy) Arcement, Rose (Vaughn) Luquette, Marjorie (Jimmy) Clement, Yvonne Pitre, Rita (Bryan) Beer and Nita (Timothy) Naquin; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgard and Rita Gros Pitre; six brothers, Edgar, Joe, Raoul, John, Morris and Murville; and four sisters, Mabel, Odille, Lucille and Marie.
He is buried at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery.
