Lee “JC” Harry Burrell, 73, a resident of Franklin, La., died Sunday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 a.m. following a long illness.

JC leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mrs. Hattie Wilson Johnson-Burrell of Franklin; one son, Harold Wayne Burrell of Charolotte, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Rosa) House, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Matthews, Connie Burrell and Ester Burrell, all of Franklin; two step-daughters, Belinda Johnson Roberson of Franklin and Mrs. Azell (Cynthia) Carter Sr. of Houston, Texas; one devoted grandson, Marcus L. (Chantell) Johnson of Franklin; 10 brothers, George (Isabella) Burrell of Bossier City, La., Morris (Viola) Burrell, Horace Lacy (Barbara) Burrell, Freddie Burrell and James (Vivian) Burrell, all of Baldwin, La., Robert Charles Burrell, Alvin Ray (Sandra) Burrell, Carlton Burrell, Harold (Marilyn) Edwards, all of Franklin, and David Burrell of Houston; three sisters, Mable Jean Burrell of Houston, Mrs. Charles (Norma Mae) Morgan of Franklin, and Laura Burrell of Panama City, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Vicky Burrell of Verdunville, La.; one stepdaughter-in-law, Letina Johnson of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents and three sons.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Greater New Hope Cemetery in Baldwin.

Jones Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
