Leo Paul Breaux Sr., 63, a native of Dularge, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.


Mr. Breaux was past president of the T-Caillou Lions Club, recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow award, Knights of Columbus and American Legion. He cherished his family and enjoyed fishing, camping and being with his family and friends. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Trahan Breaux; mother, Lucretia Scott Lirette; son, Chief Petty Officer Leo (Jane) Breaux Jr.; daughters, Lilcretia (Bernard Jr.) Bergeron and Frannie (Derek) Authement; brothers, Roosevelt Jr., Neal, and Danny Lirette; sisters, Sarah Day, Glenda Parker and Sue Lacoste; and five grandchildren, Brittany Breaux, Alexis, Paige, and Emily Bergeron and Baileigh Authement.


He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roosevelt Lirette Sr.; one son, Alvin “J.J.” Breaux; one grandson, Jaden Paul Bergeron; and his in-laws, Alvin and Lillian Blanchard Trahan.

He is buried at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
