Leona Chatagnier Bourg, 89, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, November 8.


She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Giroir and husband Ronald, Brunella Duplantis, Debra DeHart and husband Mardius, of Houma, and Bonnie Eubanks of North Carolina; one brother, Medelton Chatagnier of Houma; and one sister, Thelma Collins of Houma; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bourg; her parents, Willis Chatagnier and Lovina Lyons Chatagnier; one son, Patrick Bourg; three daughters, Melissa Bourg, Sarah Ann Bourg and Mary Joyce Bourg; one son-in-law Warner Duplantis Sr.; one grandson Warner Duplantis Jr.; and three brothers, Eldrin Chatagnier, Edward Chatagnier, and Wilbert Chatagnier.

She was a retired cook with the Terrebonne Parish School Board and a member of St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society. She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 10, at Chauvin Funeral Home, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin, La.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
