Leroy “Tom” J. Kiffe, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.

Mr. Kiffe was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He was a member of Holy Name Society, Chamber of Commerce, Gov. Shrimp Task Force, Gulf State Marine Fisheries Comm. and Cruisin’ Cajuns, and president of the La. Shrimp Association. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, trapping, camping. He was a commercial shrimper since the age of 15. He owned and operated Tom Kiffe & Son Boat Rental.


He is survived by his son, Darcy (Dale) Kiffe; daughters, Debra (Chris) Guidry and Janet (Timmy) Istre; brothers, Steven Sr., Edmond, Curlen and Lodriguess Jr. “Rickey” Kiffe; sister, Ingrid Bruce; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


He was preced in death by his wife, Noella Kiffe; parents, Lodriguess and Victoria Toups Kiffe; brothers, Edwin and Horace Kiffe; and sisters, Brunella Theriot and Eula Cook.

He is buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Larose, La.

In lieu of flowers donations to family for a memorial bench at Larose Civic Center are preferred.
