Law enforcement makes arrest in 15-year-old priest murder case

Libby Boudreaux Scott, 92, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Bosco, La., died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 8:42 p.m.

She is survived by four sons, Elray J. Scott and his wife Polly, Bruce C. Scott and his wife Connie, Michael P. Scott and his wife Rhonda, and Daniel J. Scott and his wife Glenda; four daughters, Grace T. Naquin and her husband Elphe “Black”, Elma Ann Coston and her husband Jerry, and Debra M. Begnaud, and Gail M. Pellegrin and her husband Terry; one sister, Erma Duplantis; two brothers, Emile J. and Hubert P. Boudreaux, Jr.; one niece, Ramona L. Breaux; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irvin J. Scott; her second husband, Layton Matherne; her parents, Hubert P. Sr. and Irma B. Boudreaux; three brothers, Henry, Druby and Calvin Boudreaux; one sister, Alma B. Lefebvre; one son-in-law, Floyd Begnaud; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.


Libby was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of both Annunziata Catholic Church and St. John Berchman Catholic Church of Cankton, La. She was a retired school lunchroom worker at Oaklawn Jr. High School.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 18, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 19, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. She will be buried in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Acadiana Inc., 2600 Johnson St., Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503-3240.

Pallbearers will be Chris Scott, Ricky Naquin, David Scott, Kirk Pellegrin, Andrew Scott, Damon Coston, Ross Coston, Keith Clause and Jimmy Scott.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
