Lillian Gertrude Powell Hebert, 89, a native of Kentwood, La., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Wednesday, June 15, 2011.


Mrs. Hebert graduated from Southeastern where she earned a B.A. degree in Home Economics and graduated from Nicholls University in 1973 with a B.A. in elementary education. She became a fourth grade teacher and taught this grade until she retired. She stayed active and loved time spent with her family, who were her joy in life. She was a member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City. Lillian will be missed tremendously by her family and friends who love her very much.

She is survived by her son, Percy (Angela) Hebert; granddaughter, Corp. Amanda (Josh) Roy; sister, Bobbie Lambert; great-granddaughter, Alexis Roy; and with numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Hebert; parents, Fannie and Percy Powell; brothers, Ruben, Fredrick and Albert Powell; and sisters, Nancy and Iris Stevens.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 20 at Twin City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery.

Percy would like to personally thank all the care-givers that attended to his mother over the years. Your compassion made this time in life bearable. (Twin City)
