Lilly Mae “Deddie” Pope, 68, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of New Orleans, La., died Tuesday, June 24


She is survived by one son, Herman Pope III of Dallas, Tx.; one daughter, Gwendolyn M. Pope of Lafayette, La.; one brother, Leroy Lewis of Gretna, La.; two sisters, Ira Dean Stewart and husband, Isaac, and Thelma Lewis, all of Houma; and two grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Pope Jr.; her parents, Alex and Maude Sims Pete; one brother, Alton Lewis Jr.; and one sister, Essie Dee Lewis.

She was Baptist.

She was buried at Halfway Cemetery in Gray, La.

Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
