August 25, 2011Lionel Caldwell Sr., 71, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011.
Mr. Caldwell was a retired laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Caldwell; children, Sally, Patricia, Lionel Jr., Ronald, Kevin, Tina and Quinton Caldwell; devoted niece, Tonya Caldwell; sisters, Fannie (Robert) Wallace, Thelma Caldwell, Velma Cola, Aline Sarr, Sally Harris, Marlene (Milton) Adams and Terese (Edward) Brown; brother, Sterling (Lona) Caldwell; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Fannie Caldwell; son, Otis Caldwell; and brother, Wilbur Caldwell.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Napoleonville with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
