Lois Mary Duplantis Scully, 74, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at Teche Regional Medical Center.


She is survived by her sons, John Jr. (Veronica) of Broussard, Russell of Morgan City, Gary (Lana) of Gainesville, Texas, and David Scully of Bayou Vista; daughters, Sylvia Kircher of Berwick and Tammy Scully of Houma, brothers, Lindy of Abbeville, and Roland (Beverly) Duplantis of Chauvin and Roy Baudoin of Kenya, Africa; and sisters, Ann Perez of Golden Meadow, Juanita Duplantis of Galliano, Merril (Roland) Naquin of Chauvin, Julia Duplantis of Houma, Jackie Baudoin of Marksville and Jeanie Hebert of Berwick; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius and Eunice Duplantis; husband, John J. Scully Sr.; son, Rickey P. Scully; and brothers, Davis and Johnny Duplantis.


Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Twin City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scully will be buried at Morgan City Cemetery.

Twin City Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
