Lois Sims Conway, 95, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and, most recently, a resident of Houma, died Saturday, May 1, 2010.

Mrs. Conway was a member of Canterbury Methodist Church in Birmingham, where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from St. Vincent’s Nursing School in Birmingham in 1933. Three years later, she joined American Airlines, where she worked as a stewardess. Her hobbies included playing golf, visiting her mountain home in Highlands, N.C., gardening, sewing, painting, needlework and arts and crafts.


She is survived by her daughter, Carol Conway of Houma; son, Jack Conway of Abita Springs; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Theda Ball, Violet Cummins and Ruth Russell.

Mrs. Conway is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Homewood, Ala.
