Lorena Henry LeBlanc, 85, a native of Dulac, La., and a resident of Chauvin La., died Monday, Aug. 31, at 1:10 a.m.


She is survived by two sons, Wayne and wife Debbie of Benson, N.C., and Brian and wife Kathy of Chauvin; one brother, Eloi Henry of Bourg, La.; and Juanita Henry, her sister-in-law.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Morris Leblanc; parents, Alcide Camille Henry Sr. and Enola Domangue Henry; two brothers, Albert and Alcide Henry Jr.; one sister, Alexsana Henry Moliason; foster parents, Lezin and Doresia Thibodeaux Trosclair; six foster brothers, Percy, Nolan, Lucious, Calvin, Kerwin and Chester; and five foster sisters, Effie T. Fryou, Libby T. Collins, Nora T. Christy, Lucille T. Ball and Margie T. Carrere.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of the American Legion Post 380, VFW 9608 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Joseph’s Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Court Pere Denece’, Ward Seven Citizens Club, St. Joseph’s choir and Chauvin Senior Corporate Club. She also was a religion teacher for several years. During the war, she worked in a defense plant in New Orleans, La. She also worked as a librarian in Chauvin and as a receptionist for Dr. John and Anna Plauche.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
