Loretta LeCompte Picou, 89, a native and resident of Bourg, La., died Tuesday, June 16.

She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Picou; children, Marilyn Pitre and husband Jean, Carl Walker and wife Diane, and Daniel Walker and wife Faye; grandchildren, Michael Pitre, Donna Curtis, Chris Pitre, Roger Walker, Philip Walker, Steven Walker, Samuel Walker, John Walker, Nicole Walker, Clint Walker and Cody Walker; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bridgette Gaudet LeCompte; sister, Janet Gaudet; brothers, Harris, Elward and Lee LeCompte; and granddaughter, Cary Pitre.

She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, a past member of Ladies Altar Society and a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
