Louis Billiot Sr., 65, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, November 25.

He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Marie Ismay Billiot of Thibodaux, one son, Louis Billiot Jr. and fiancé Dodie Scott of Houma, La.; one daughter, Mary Pellegrin of Gibson, La.; three stepsons, Albert Joseph Billiot and wife Mae of Grand Caillou, La., Anthony Billiot and wife Earline of Lafayette, La., and Gene Billiot and wife Mary of Thibodaux; seven stepdaughters, Eva Savoie and husband Terry, Sue Savoie and husband Dale, Tullulah Billiot and companion Eddie, Rose Billiot and companion Harold Hebert, Janice Savoie and husband Nolan of Thibodaux, Angela Billiot of Lafayette and Shirley Billiot of Texas; one brother, William Billiot of Houma, four sisters, Mary of Dulac, La., Onelia, Alice and Paula of Houma; five grandchildren, 39 step-grandchildren; and 50 step-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Billiot and Louise Felicia Billiot; three brothers, Paul Billiot, O’Neal Billiot and Joseph Billiot; and two sisters, Cecilia and Judy.

He was a self-employed fisherman, jack-of-all-trades handyman and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, November 28, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer services will be at 11 a.m. with burial at Holy Family Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
