Louis J. “Jimmy” West, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012.
Mr. West was a retired laborer whose hobbies included fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his wife, Linda West; sons, Kinyata Cheatham and Brian Hill; daughters, Peggy West, Terry (Ronald) Thomas, Pam (Vernon) Madison, Kim Jackson and Mona (Treat) Norwood; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and James West; and son, Louis West Jr.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at St. Peter Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Williams & Southall Funeral)
