October 13, 2010Louis John LeCompte, 87, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.
Mr. LeCompte worked for Shell Oil Company for 17 years and was a self-employed trawler. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Pellegrin LeCompte; sons, Rickey (Abby Gale) and Denny (Stephanie) LeCompte; daughter, Bonnie (Richard) Robichaux; 12 grandchildren, Ruby LeCompte, Robin Lapeyrouse, Tracy LeCompte, Monica Arcenaux, Darren and Benjy Robichaux, Deke LeCompte, Jessie Lynn Miller, and Daniel, Brian, Sam and Meg LeCompte; 18 great-grandchildren, Emma and Joseph Lapeyrouse, Jason, James and Rebecca Arcenaux, Courtney, Kyle, Lilly and Cade Robichaux, Nathan, Xander, Madeline, Elizabeth, Thomas and John LeCompte, and Andrew, Evan and Adam Miller; two great-great-grandchildren, Bella Lucy and Charlie Nell Arcenaux; and sisters, Clara Boudreaux, Genise LeCompte and Lolita Lirette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oleus and Emily Benoit LeCompte; two sons, Louis Jr. and Bobby LeCompte; and one sister, Beulah LeCompte Boudreaux.
He is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
