Dr. Louis P. LeBlanc Jr., 82, a resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013.


Dr. LeBlanc practiced dentistry in Golden Meadow for 46 years. He served in the Korean War, graduated from Loyola University and held several leadership positions including president of the Bayou District Dental Society. An avid and skilled fisherman, he was nicknamed “Louis of Meadow” and was a founding member of the Yankee Canal Speckled Trout Rodeo. A child prodigy in music, he provided saxophone entertainment to his friends and family over the course of his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth LeBlanc; sister, Merrill Corney; children, Andree and Louis III (Vickie) LeBlanc, Celeste (Norwood) Norris and Luanne (Keith) Liedeerman; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Louis and Hattie LeBlanc.


Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. (Falgout)
