Louis Stove Sr., 78, native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died Saturday, April 7, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Crozier Cemetery.


He is survived by his sons, Gerald, Louis Jr, Charles and Eric Stove; his daughters, Joyce Chatman, Gwedolyn Stove and Regina Washington; his brothers, Chanley Stove and James Stove; 29 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda W. Stove; his parents, Millard Stove and Clara M. Stove; her brothers, Edward Stove, Sr and Millard Stove, Jr.; his 3 sisters, Susie S. Wolfe, Bertha S. Fleming and Rebecca W. Poindexter; and 1 grandson, Brandon Smith.

He served in the U.S. Army (Korean War). He was a mechanic, carpenter and gardner. He was a faithful member of Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Houma, LA.

Community Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
