Lucille “Kiki” “MaMa Lou” Waguespack Gravois, 86, a native of Vacherie, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010.


Mrs. Gravois received her B.S. in Home Economics Education from SLI in 1945. Quilting was her passion, and she leaves a legacy of many beautiful quilts.

She is survived by her husband, Lester “Pa” Gravois; sons, Bobby (Susie) and Denis (Denise) Gravois; daughters, Leslie “Tookie” (Billy) Terry, Margaret (C.J.) Scarpero, Eileen (Jack) Price, Mi-Mi (Doug) Duncan and Jean (Kevin) Lyons; sister, Aimee Becnel; 27 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Anita Poche Waguespack; three sons, Ross, Howard and Billy Gravois; two grandsons, Andrew Lyons and Jackson Price; one brother, Bub Waguespack; one sister, Nita Cullen; and one daughter-in-law, Sonia Gravois.

She is buried at St. Philip Cemetery.
