Lucy Parr Malbrough, 97, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011.

Mrs. Malbrough was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She loved sewing and cooking. Many of us know her from her years at A.M. & J.C. Dupont’s. She was a faithful Catholic and a life-long member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. All of us who knew her were blessed by her strength, independence and humility. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Eva) Malbrough; son-in-law, Daniel (Patricia) Beacom; four grandchildren, Bruce (Robin) Beacom, Geri (Kevin) Joubert, Angelle (Louis Gannuch) Malbrough and Jean-Pierre (Melissa) Malbrough; and 13 great-grandchildren, Kali, Gabrielle, Jean-Luc, Grace, Simone, Madeline, Matthew, Katherine, Jackson, Kalynn, Shelby, Warren, and Marina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Malbrough; daughter, Katherine Beacom; parents, Lucia and Alex Parr; five sisters, Mary, Louise, Delia, Cecille, and Grace; and two brothers, Percy and Arthur.

He is buried at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
