Lydia Lucille Crochet O’Neal, 88, a native of Morgan City, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, February 10, at 4:15 p.m.


She is survived by her sons, Lyness Hebert Jr. and George Hebert and wife Cathy Hebert; daughters, Jane Spellman, Gayle Cross and husband Martin Cross, and Kay Faust and husband Blaine Faust; sister, Wilma Rhodes; brother, Harry P. Crochet; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Lyness Hebert Sr. and Lloyd O’Neal Jr.; parents, Henry Clay Crochet and Melodia Gaspard Crochet; sisters, Shirley Smith and Dorothy Mae Crochet; brothers, Wilbur Crochet and Meyer P. Pisani; son-in-law, William Spellman; and daughter-in-law, Sue Hebert.

She was a great seamstress and loved ceramics. She will be remembered for her caring ways and loving heart for all who knew her.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
