Mabel Winslow Walker, 88, a native of Gray, La., and a resident of Schriever, La., died Wednesday, January 23, 2008.


She is survived by two sons, Clifford Walker Jr. and wife Gertie of Thibodaux, La., and Charlie Walker Sr. and wife Betty of Schriever; one daughter, Mable Marie Walker Smith of Schriever; six sisters, Ann W. Wallace of Metairie, La., Rose Nell Fletcher and husband Edward, Hazel Gassery and husband Percy and Carol Ballard of Thibodaux, Albierda Winslow and husband Bert and Daisy W. Harris of Schriever; thirteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 24 great great- grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Walker Sr.; parents, Charley and Jane Howard Winslow; one daughter, Ruby Walker; five brothers, Welton, Earl, Lawrence, Herman and Johnnie Winslow; and five sisters, Ida, Josephine, Emily and Evlina Winslow and Clara Antoine

Mabel was a member of New Magnolia Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. Her hobbies included cooking and singing.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at New Magnolia Baptist Church in Schriever followed by the religious service. She will be buried in the Halfway Cemetery in Gray.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
