Mable “Booker” Verdin Davis, 89, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of New Orleans, La., died Monday, July 30, 2007.
She is survived by her two sons, John Giles and Alvin Riley; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis; her parents, Cecilia & Joseph Verdin; three brothers, Albert Verdin, Columbus Verdin and Perry Verdin, Sr.; and three sisters, Gertrude Stoves, Dorothy Miller and Beauluh Stewart.
Mable was a devout Baptist and is at home with her Lord Jesus Christ.
Visitation is Thursday, August 2, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Community Funeral Home in Houma, La. She will be buried at Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
