Malcolm E. Guidroz Sr., 89, a lifelong resident of Lafourche Parish, La., died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, after a brief illness.


Mr. Guidroz was a member of VFW Post 3665 and the American Legion. He was also a chief petty officer in the U.S. Naval Construction Batallion in the Pacific Islands during World War II.


He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Pearl; four grandchildren, Malcolm III, Heather, Kimnita and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Asa, Emma and Esme; two special nieces, Lettie and Teala; and a special cousin, Millie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Noelie Comeaux Guidroz; his loving wife, Marie Louise; his only son, Malcolm Jr.; and his only brother, Eldin Guidroz.

He is buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
