Marcia Rhodes Porche, 59, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, November 2.


She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Louis Porche; two sons, Lloyd Porche and wife Dawn, and John Porche; one daughter, Chalayne Porche; three grandchildren, Kaylee Porche and twin boy and girl due in December; six sisters, Sybil and husband Errol Guidry, Eileen Chauvin, Mary and husband Kevin Talbot, Marianne and husband Brian Matherne, Theresa and husband John Hebert, and Virginia Rhodes and companion Philip Achee; and four brothers, Andrew Rhodes, Peter Rhodes and wife Pamela, Benny Rhodes and wife Jeanne, and Christopher Rhodes and wife Tammy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marion Robichaux Rhodes; her father-in-law, Elsey Porche; one brother, Anthony “Tubb” Rhodes; one sister, Christine Rhodes Fontenot; and one niece, Rhonda Rhodes.


She was a parishioner and active with Maria Immacolata Church and a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School Class of 1968.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Infant Crisis Center, c/o Sister Rosario Connell, P.O. Box 2866, Houma, La., 70361, and MacDonell United Methodist Children’s Services, 8326 Main St., Houma, La., 70363.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 3, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with mass to follow.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
