Margaret Bland

Margaret Rebelle Bland, 70, a native of Port Allen, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

Mrs. Bland was a retired teacher’s aide for the Terrebonne Parish School Board. She was a member of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church where she volunteered as a catechism teacher. She also volunteered for Hospice of South Louisiana, Journey Hospice of the Shores and the Terrebonne Parish food bank.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Bland; sons, Lance and Deron (Leslie) Bland; daughters, Laurel (Joey) Henry and Traci (Andre) Daigle; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Jane Salter and Judy (Tommy) Nurenberg.

In lieu flowers, memorial donations to Journey Hospice of the Shores are appreciated.

She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
