May 12, 2011Margaret Inez Guynes Nicholson, 88, a native of Blessing, Texas, and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, May 6, 2011.
Mrs. Nicholson was a charter member of University Baptist Church and lived her life in service to her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a Bible teacher, historian, church librarian and recorder for many years during her lifetime. As a former member of First Baptist Church, she filled many places of service. In her years of early marriage, she lived in Clute, Texas, where she was a Bible teacher for several years before moving to Thibodaux. She was a loving and kind friend to many and a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends will cherish sweet memories of her in their hearts.
She is survived by her daughters, Nora (Gerald) Chenier and Tommie Jo (Eddie) Edwards; son, Samuel (Marcie) Nicholson; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Kris and Letecia Chenier, Jason Edwards, Monica Downs, and Andrew and Zach Nicholson; 13 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Katie, Kristin, Kasi, Kala and Kade Chenier, Allie and Riley Downs, Phoebe, Noah, Caleb, Hannah, Sophie, and the approaching arrival of RaeAnn Nicholson; and brother, Garland (Janie) Guynes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis James Nicholson; and parents, Roe and Mary Little Guynes.
She is buried at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
