Marie Philomene Henry Caillouet, 99, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Lafayette, La., died at 8:57 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011.

Mrs. Caillouet was a registered nurse, although long-retired from a primarily private-duty nursing career that started in 1932. She taught Red Cross home nursing classes during World War II and she and her late husband were among the organizers of the Houma-Terrebonne Carnival Club. She was active in the St. Francis de Sales Ladies’ Altar Society, the St. Francis Mothers’ Club, and Court Cardinal Gibbons of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was an exemplary role model for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and for the many others whose lives she touched. Her family wishes to thank her many excellent care givers and dedicated sitters.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Joseph) Randazzo Jr.; son, Louis (Jill) Caillouet III; grandchildren, Richard (Therese) and Albert Randazzo, Jean (Eric) Campos, Matthew (Stephanie) and Kevin (Irene) Caillouet; and six great-grandchildren, Adrian and Amelia Campos and Nathan, Jacob, Lucas and Ethan Caillouet.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Louis Caillouet II; parents, Willis Henry and Isia Lajaunie; sisters, Florence LeBlanc, Julie Toups and Gertrude, Anne and Jeanne Henry; and brothers, Lucas, Willis and George Henry.

In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred, or donations in her memory may be made to St. Francis de Sales Cathedral or School.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1. (Chauvin)
