Marie Rita Avet Collins, 74, a native and resident of Dulac, La., died Monday, June 15, at 8:15 a.m.
She is survived by her companion, Rollin Gautreaux; sons, Percy J. Collins Jr. and wife Veronica, David F. Collins and wife Debra, and Timmy P. Collins and wife Maryann; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy J. Collins; parents, John J. and Georgiana Pellegrin Avet; son, Farrell J. Collins; brothers, Willis, Joseph and Francis Avet; and sisters, Josephine Martin, Jean Dubois, Justine Pellegrin and Louise Portier.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 18, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial at St. Francis #2 Cemetery in Houma.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
