Marie Hargraves Shriner, 79, a native of Abbeville, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died Friday, January 5, 2007.


Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA. Religious services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis De Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She was survived by three sons, Carl “Bubba” Shriner, Joseph Shriner and Darrell Shriner; four daughters, Marie Shriner Savoy, Catherine Shriner, Bevely Shriner and Helen Shriner Scott; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Charles Sr.; her parents, Cornillies Hargraves and Edna Tuchet Hargraves; one grandson, Dereck Charles Shriner; her foster parents, Grandville and Catherine Como; three brothers, Joe, Alex and Alton Hargraves; three foster brothers, Vernon, Grandville “Nucy” and Cecil Como; three sisters, Hazel Babineaux, Annie Lou Guidry and Alita Schexnayder; and 18 half brothers and sisters.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
