Marjorie LeCompte Labit, 91, a native of Montegut, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, April 19, at 8:15 a.m.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Cogswell and husband Jim of Reserve, La., Bonnie Jones and husband Gary of Houma, and Christine Cockerham and husband Donnie of Houma; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Joseph Labit; parents, John LeCompte and Cora Boudreaux LeCompte; sisters, Augusta Verret and Wilda Authement; and brother, Johnny LeCompte.
She was a Eucharistic Minister for Terrebonne General Medical Center, Leonard Chabert Hospital and shut-ins. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Gregory Catholic Church, the Krewe of Hyacinthians, and a volunteer for Southdown Plantation Museum. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.
