Local author brings soulmate research to print

Marlene “Mert” Jenkins, 72, a native of Berwick, La., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, July 24, 2010.
She is survived by her sons, Edgar “E.J.” Charles Jr. and Lenny Jenkins; daughters, Carol Ann Gamble and Tabitha Jenkins; brothers, Burnell Jr., Athur Jr. and Dwayne “Foot” Gray; sisters, Adele Brashear, Gladys Ruffin, Sheila Washington and Mary Esther Baytop; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and one son.
She is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
