Martha Nelson Bradley, 43, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Terrebonne General Medical Center of Stomach Cancer.


She is survived by her husband, Rev. Rolando Bradley; her mother, Delores Nelson; two daughters, Orielle Chantielle Nelson and Banita Antionette Nelson; two sons, Victor Jerome Nelson, Sr. and Richard Nelson; three brothers, Donald Nelson, Aubrey Nelson, and Elrick Nelson; seven sisters, Elaine Joyce Kellup, Marion Dillard, Winfred Plummer, Wanda Davis, Donna Faye, Sharon Nelson, and Julie Nelson; She is also survived by four grand children.


She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Nelson, Jr.; her brother, Isaac Nelson III, and grandparents, Isaac Nelson, Sr., Martha Scott Nelson, Irene Morris, and Edward Hagens.

Martha was a devout Baptist and a member of New Zion Baptist Church of Houma. She served as a member of the Choir and was also a member of the Spiritual Sisters of Raceland. Her hobbies included sewing, singing, fishing, reading and spending time with her family.

Visitation is Friday, September 28, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland and Saturday, September 29, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at New Zion Baptist Church. She will be buried will be in the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
