Mary Anders Meche, 78, a native of El Dorado, Ark., and resident of Gray, La., died Saturday, May 3, 2014.
Mrs. Meche was a kind, gentle and loving person with a big heart. She was a beautician, housewife and volunteer at Leonard J. Chabert Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the Houma Oil Wives Club.
She is survived by her sister, Billie Brumley; son, Harold Brossette Jr.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Meche; parents, Elden and Pearl Anders; daughter, Sue Ford; sisters, Nancy Anders, Margie Gott and Juanita Brooks; and brother, David Anders.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Chauvin Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery. (Chauvin)
