Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong
March 19, 2010Mary Boecklen, 92, a native of Kitchuses, Newfoundland, and resident of Houma, La., formally of Philadelphia, Pa. and Port Lucie, Fla., died at 2:05 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010.
She is survived by her son, William (Avis) Boecklen Jr.; daughters, Mary (William “Skip”) Roeder and Noreen (Greg) Bastian; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Boecklen; and parents, Thomas and Mary Cole Kenny.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Habitat for Humanity are preferred.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
